At Urgent CNC we have built a company on the foundation of Principles and Core Values that we believe best meets the challenges of our business world today:

  • We believe in family first – we work extremely hard and realize the importance of solid support systems at home. We expect a lot out of every employee on a wide range of business needs, we also encourage them to maintain a quality family life.
  • We believe in healthy living and a hard work ethic. We foster continual practices in good health and hygiene. We feel it is important for every employee to take themselves seriously within the work environment they are currently involved and to consider the future of where life might take them. We support positive living.
  • We promote from within. Sure there are roles in the company that require specific levels of education and academic accreditation, but we also believe that experience is the best teacher. We try to motivate our employees to think bigger and take action.
  • We support local business. We utilize local and stateside resources whenever possible. Over 95% of our outsourcing business is done with companies we know personally and are located in the United States.

“We came from humble beginnings with little more than an idea of solving problems. Those problems had a whole lot to do with lack of time and the misappropriation of money. Parts being made out of the country spent too much time in transit, forcing larger batch quantities, and they often did not meet the quality specifications of customers. This combination of issues cost our clients time and money…lowering their standards and negatively impacting the end product.  We at Urgent CNC are all about fixing that…we save our partners time and help them make more money, without sacrificing the quality standards that made them leaders in the industry.”

C. Baer ‘15

A manufacturing career that started in 1988 sweeping floors in a local Fortune 500 factory to pay for school and growing through apprenticeships in tool making and engineering, eventually landed Urgent CNC founder, Chris Baer, at the helm of multiple world-class startup companies. Combining his experience as a top-rate CNC programmer, process engineer, and project manager, Baer took on the leadership role of several multi-million dollar project launches with the “Big Three” automakers finding great success and financial reward.

Moving around within a couple of the major players, he eventually became frustrated with opportunities that were being lost to overseas suppliers and the challenges that were to result. He saw problems with communication, deliveries, and true cost models. With this in mind, Mr. Baer took to the street to help solve these problems, with the idea of connecting the small-shop American business owner with the large corporate buyers of the U.S. manufacturing market.

Following years of providing this service for free, in combination with his capital equipment sales manager role, Chris Baer finally made the plunge to fund and build Urgent CNC from ground up. The manufacturing industry welcomed the company and Baer’s experience with open arms, allowing for the build of his own manufacturing facilities in his hometown of Monticello, Indiana. Baer is now the owner of multiple businesses that service the manufacturing industry, with Urgent CNC being the one stop source for all things that need machined.
